Today’s Haman: Adversary and Enemy

This article explores the threat that Iran’s president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, poses to Israel’s security. In this lesson, students will brainstorm other villains from Jewish history to understand Ahmadinejad’s objectives and methods and place him in the context of others who have threatened the Jewish People. Students will also consider ways to speak out against Ahmadinejad’s threatening rhetoric and sign a petition in response to his crime of inciting genocide.

Students will identify various villains from Jewish history. Students will compare Iran’s president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, to those villains. Students will also sign a petition urging the indictment of Ahmadinejad on charges of inciting genocide.
