In an effort to restart the Middle East peace process with the Palestinians, Israel recently evacuated 8,500 citizens from the Gaza Strip. Unfortunately, the controversial decision strained relations between supporters of the Gaza disengagement and its opponents. People of good will are working hard to soothe hurt feelings and unify the country; our Unity Pledge will strengthen their resolve.
| We, the undersigned, are united with pride in the State of Israel, the Jewish people’s homeland. We pray and we hope that the rift that has erupted within Israeli society will be healed. May our signatures on this document serve as an affirmation of our strength as a people and our support of Israel. |
